This is a high impact environment where you work closely with Sales Representatives to identify and deliver technical solutions to accelerate our Customer’s success. As a member of the Sales team you have a pivotal role in qualifying the client’s requirements as well as managing long-term relationships with our valued customers.
Education, Exposure and Experience
The Associate System Engineer (ASE) course is an extensive training and work experience program that provides you with the background to be a capable Systems Engineer.
SEs are the technical specialists of our sales community and work with a variety of lead-
ing Cisco technologies. This is an ideal career for people who can combine great techni-
cal expertise with good communication skills
Using the Cisco model of education, exposure and experience, you will receive education in a classroom environment followed by exposure in a mentored environment where you will gain experience via hands on work.
Phase I lasts approximately six months where you spend 90 percent of your time training to acquire business acumen, executive presentation and sales skills as well as learn about Cisco technologies, business solutions, competitors, and products. During this pe-
riod, you will also earn your certifications as both a Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) and a Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP).
In Phase II, the next six months, you will spend 50 percent of your time in advanced train-
ing and 50 percent of your time working with Systems Engineers and other teams, i.e. the Technical Assistance Center to gain experience working with Cisco customers. You will also work extensively in lab environments to gain hands on experience with testing and trouble shooting. You will have earned certifications as both a Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) and Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP).
Eligibility
Graduated within the last 24 months (between May 2006-July
2008)
Maximum two years work experience (technical support, pre-sales support, and hands-on installation in the computer technology industry, business, or sales)
Prerequisites
You must be willing to relocate to our Research Triangle Park
location in North Carolina for the 12 month program term. After
successful completion of the program your final work location
is determined by the needs of the business and your country of
origin.
Asia Pacific Hires are relocated within their country of origin in the Asia Pacific region
Education
Minimum B.E or MS/MBA may also apply (From a premier institute)
Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred
Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics), Information Technologies, Computer Sciences
CCNA/CCDA certification preferred - MCSE certification highly

Develop/maintain deep technical understanding of solution sets, architecture and full Cisco product line
Maintain good understanding of competitor solutions, products and services
Support Account Managers with client meetings and presentations
Set-up and prepare equipment for customer demonstrations and evaluations
